Extreme Danger! its OK, its only moisture.
Some of you may of noticed the front page temperature comfort monitor, with the bright Red warning "Extreme Danger" over the last few days. Don't panic, its not the end of the world and no, the temperature did not reach a high of 56c on Sunday. The reason for the alarming warning was a faulty Temp/Humidity sensor on our main station caused by moisture. A new sensor was fitted earlier today and is working perfectly, so back to more bearable temperatures for this time of year. (Added 27-04-10)

On Christmas Eve we had over 200,000 website hits, on Christmas morning our host company Streamline.net closed down Wroxall Weather because we were busy the day before. Thanks a lot streamline, so much for the guarantee of bandwidth and unlimited this and that. As a result of this let down to you the public, we pulled our account with this rubbish host and moved our business. It may take a couple of days to fully get the site up and running but please bare with us as it will be worth the wait. (Added 27-12-09)

Plenty of confusion around at the moment which can only be described as a Forecasters nightmare. All of the main Weather Forecast Agencies are in agreement of a "Severe Snow Event" affecting the UK over the next 3 days, what isn't agreed is the exact track of the Snow or the amount. At present the models are throwing out between 5 & 10cm in places, with between 2 & 5cm forecast for the Island. As a matter of caution we have issued an Early Weather Watch which is updated regularly and we expect this to be upgraded to a Warning by early tomorrow( Sunday) . Keep checking back for all the latest updates as all eyes are to the East on the Snow Watch! (Added 31-1-09)
Because of the possibility of Wintry showers next week and the huge public demand we have decided to update all the forecast pages 3 times a day. The early morning forecast will be as usual at 7:00am but then updated at 1:00pm and then again at 8:00pm. An Early Weather Watch will be issued shortly with regular updates and may be upgraded to a Weather Warning if conditions worsen. (Added 30-1-09)
Had a number of complaints this week asking why we have stopped replying to emails. What emails?? After a bit of checking we discovered a problem with the coding on the "Contact Us" form. This has now been sorted with a brand new form which gives you more options, it is now easier than ever to let us know what department you want to speak to, and to subscribe or unsubscribe from the Daily Mail. So to all of you that thought we were off with you, Sorry, we love all the mail we get and we always reply (when we know we have some)! (Added 18-01-09)
Just finished adding a few new bits for you guys to play with. At the bottom of this page there is now the "Tell A Friend" button, click this and you will be able to email the page to a friend or add the page to Facebook, MySpace or Blogger. We have added this feature because of all the emails we get asking us to include the feature. We have also fixed the broken "Share this forecast" link in the Forecast Area. Now you can email any of the Forecast's to all of your friends. Wroxall Weather is now on Facebook, please click on the logo below and add us to your friends list to stay up to date with news and upcoming events and features. (Added 13-01-09)
We have finished upgrading the site theme (at last). So what's New? The main change is the new Isle of Wight Weather Centre area, this area will have Island wide current conditions and Weather information, it will also be home to the new "Center For Severe Weather Research On The Isle of Wight". More on that later. New Weather history and archived data stuff will be added to the Weather Data Page. We have also included a Sitemap and Media page which can be found at the bottom. Much of the content on all pages has also been updated. After a few days off the 2nd phase of work continues, we will be adding new content to the pages mentioned above as well as updating older pages like the Links Page (if you would like your link added please email us) Don't forget we have a notice board which is FREE for Island use. New Competition soon! (Added 10-01-09)
2008!
What a year its been for Wroxall Weather. We have had numerous press mentions, interviews on local weather events, we advised the builder of the new cricket ground on when to sow the seeds for the new pitch. We tirelessly forecast the weather everyday, sometimes we get it wrong but a lot of the time, we get it right. We have added new forecast and data pages and extended our forecast range. Last week are little local website received over 900,000 hits making us One of the biggest and most popular website's on the Isle of Wight. We are the Islands leading Weather Website and there is much more to come in 2009, and as of today (New Years Eve) we have been granted official Weather Centre Status. In 2009 we will build on the success of the last 12 months, we will add more resolution to our models, improve our forecasts and add many new pages of interest. With our new found Weather Centre Status comes the promise that we will continue to improve our service to you. Thanks for 2008 and we hope to see you all in 2009.
